The airport runway is the most important main street in any town. — Norm Crabtree

Welcome!

With picturesque approaches, first-class service, and a welcoming attitude, Cherokee County's Airport affords an enjoyable aviation lifestyle. The airport operates one asphalt runway, Runway 14/32, which measures 5,011 feet in length and 75 feet in width.

Cherokee County Airport is just a short drive from Tyler, TX, almost equidistant to Dallas, Houston, or Shreveport. No ATC delays or ramp fees greet visitors to the facility; we WANT you to discover Cherokee County!

Cherokee County's citizens take pride in the County's airport operation. Some aviation-related activities at the airport regularly include flight training and education, corporate use, agriculture operations, and recreational flying. Additionally, the airport provides several community-based services and programs to enhance the health, safety, welfare, and quality of life of area citizens. Such activities include fire support and emergency medical evacuation.

Home to many beautiful landmarks and acres of undeveloped land, Economic Development entities are located in the principal cities of Rusk and Jacksonville. Stately old homes and churches are flanked by excellent schools, state-of-the-art medical centers, and a community of people dedicated to God and the American dream.

We hope you’ll land at Cherokee County soon and plan to stay a little while!
